Slow and deliberate

The knife pierces the throbbing, transparent

Vein

Ripping menacingly through flesh

Releasing any remaining drops of

Hope

And perpetuating further

Despair

Gray and wrenching

But a smile is somehow

Revealed

(Yellowing teeth and receeding, pinkish gums)

As I watch the

Blood/Life

Pour out

As if searching for a better and unknown home

Just as I am.
